Verges

Artist book comprising monoprints found in a single grass verge in the summer of 2024. Held together with dandelion cordage.

Verges is an exploration of nature in the urban environment, considering what flora and fauna we cultivate, and what is overlooked and often derided. Many of the plants in this series are considered ‘weeds’, and so Verges is an opportunity to look more closely at these plants, to notice and celebrate them individually, and as part of a group, all clustered on the same grass verge.

Audiences are invited to flip through the book as a kind of visual index of the plants that surround us in an urban environment, engaging audiences in the act of looking at these plants they may see everyday and not have the opportunity to see the details of up close.
